Witness Blanket will be on display at Woodland Cultural Centre from December 12, 2020 to February 26, 2020. There will be a screening of the Witness Blanket Documentary and opening reception with artist Carey Newman for community members to learn more on December 13, 2020 at 7PM via zoom.

As we approach the unveiling of the former Mohawk Institute dormitory building (let’s not forget — the current museum was once the Mohawk Institute school), here is a sneak peek at some of the items on what was found hidden in the walls during construction...• A girl’s dress shoe• An article of clothing with the sewn-in number “72”• A boy’s Hopalong Cassidy wallet• A piece of wall plaster, signed and dated by daring female students in the 1930sA slideshow of all the school-related items uncovered during construction will be shown during the September 30th Official Unveiling: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Event. Some of these items have also been carefully conserved and will be on display in the Mohawk Institute exhibition.Plan your visit today.
