Have you always wanted to visit the Woodland Cultural Centre Museum but haven’t been able to make it in person? Join Woodland Cultural Centre Curator, Patricia Deadman, and Associate Director, Chris Ashkewe for a virtual tour of our Museum. The museum collects, preserves, researches, exhibits and interprets a collection of archaeological material, historical material culture, arts, crafts, documents and archival photographs.
You will be guided through a compacted version of the permanent historical gallery by several of our staff members, including our Executive Director, Janis Monture. You will be immersed in the story of the people who lived in this area over 600 years ago through the present day. You will have the opportunity to look at the experience as a storyline from a historical perspective, as well as, interweaving culture and identity throughout.
This event is in celebration of #MayisMuseumMonth and the theme The Power of Museums. Join us on May 17, 2022, at 7PM to celebrate the history and resiliency of Indigenous people. This will be the first public screening of our brand new virtual tour, so this is an event you won’t want to miss!
