The Woodland Cultural Centre invites you to join us on August 24, 2022 at 7pm for a virtual screening of the film, Waban-Aki: People From Where the Sun Rises, directed by Alanis Obomsawin. Following the film will be a Q&A session with our Curator, Patricia Deadman.
In this feature-length documentary from Alanis Obomsawin, the filmmaker returns to the village where she was raised to craft a lyrical account of her own people. After decades of tirelessly recording others’ stories, she focuses this film on her own.
Join us August 24 at 7PM; this is an event you won’t want to miss! Tickets are free with a suggested $5 donation to the Art department so we can continue to provide virtual programming.
