On Tuesday November 29th, we will be celebrating GivingTuesday here at the Woodland Cultural Centre. Happening just after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we flip the script from spending money on presents and goods, to supporting local non-profits and charities.
The Woodland Cultural Centre is asking you to show support this GivingTuesday to raise $10,000 for the Dwadwęnaga:da:t Language Department to help support in their work to strengthen and revitalize Hodinohsho:ni languages and cultures.
Through the Woodland Cultural Centre, the Language Department facilitates programming where they can teach, document, preserve, share and create resources with language and culture in many different aspects. The language department uses its platform, resources, and donations to promote and assist Woodland Cultural Centre support communities as well as grassroots language programs within the Six Nations, Wahta and Tyendinaga communities.
Make sure to follow our social media to be reminded of this opportunity to double your donation. Many community supporters, schools and organizations are using the month of November to raise awareness and funds to double the impact of their donation by making it on November 29th.
