Britty is Mohawk nation, Wolf clan from the Six Nations of the Grand River territory. A mother of two and a dental hygienist, she found her love for beading hats while on maternity leave with her son. She started out beading baseball hats and visors and has started beading fedoras.⁠

Established in 1975, this is one of the longest-running multimedia exhibitions that provide artists with an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work in a fine art gallery setting. Thank you for your patience during our closure for construction. It was difficult to close during this exhibition! ⁠

The Woodland Cultural Centre presents a screening of the ⁠
Mohawk Institute Residential School on September 20 at 6:00pm. ⁠
⁠
Your donation will help support our education department to create and deliver virtual programming at the Woodland Cultural Centre. We want to continue to deliver the highest quality programs centered on a Hodinohsho:ni worldview, celebrating, and sharing Indigenous cultures, languages, and art.⁠
⁠
The virtual tour video was created with local production company Thru the Reddoor, and it follows the guide, Lorrie Gallant, as she gives a tour of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School. ⁠
⁠
During the video, Lorrie provides the history of the institution over its 140-year history. Viewers will get to see the different rooms in the school, from the girls’ and boys’ dormitories, to the cafeteria, laundry room, and other rooms throughout the building, as well as hear interviews from five Survivors of the Mohawk Institute.⁠
