One of the most well-known social dances is the Smoke Dance, a traditional dance of the Hodinohsho:ni people. Originally derived from the War Dance, it was performed exclusively by men and featured fast-paced movements meant to showcase their agility and endurance. Over time, women developed their own distinct version of the dance, adding a unique style to the tradition.Some stories have emerged about how the Smoke Dance got its name.
