Meet Artisan Stevie Jonathon, Owner Behind the Brand of Yohskats Art & Design
Stevie Jonathan is a Mohawk nation, Wolf clan woman of the Grand River. She is an artist and educator and manager at Six Nations Polytechnic where she bridges her passion for language and cultural revitalization with Indigenous education excellence. Her work in education and as an artist is guided by the principles of the Great Law and Hodinohsó:ni thought and philosophy. Artwork in all its forms is a way to connect to others. Stevie founded Yohskats Art & Design in 2017 on these principles and is bonded by mother and daughter. Tania Jonathan is the main artist responsible for the creation of unique designs, colour coordination, and production of good vibes for this business. Her speciality is beaded rope (wristlet keychains, lanyards, necklaces).
