Indigenous Art 2021 Artist, Hilary Porter

Welcome to Woodland Cultural Centre’s Indigenous Art 2021 Exhibition.

Established in 1975, this is one of the longest running multi-media exhibitions that provide artists an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work in a fine art gallery setting. WCC is pleased to announce the return of this annual Juried Exhibition and we can’t wait to share the selected works with the public. Indigenous Art 2021 will be running September 11 – November 20, 2021.

Meet Artist Hilary Porter

Hilary Porter is a self-taught artist coming from Six Nations of the Grand River. She has been drawing for her entire life and, outside of secondary education art classes, has never received postsecondary education for the arts. Instead, she develops her skills on her own and learns as she goes. She considers her creations to be constant works-in-progress. Hilary spends most of her time drawing but has also explored painting and sculpting in recent years. She does not limit herself to one medium and instead likes to create with what she has at the time. She is inspired by planet earth and the beauty it has to offer.
